A startup turning clinical needs into functional solutions.

Biomedical design, prototyping, and implementation for teams that need to move faster.

Digital Strings team

Digital Strings® is a medical technology startup based in Guatemala. We design physical and digital solutions for healthcare teams that need to solve real problems without relying on slow processes or rigid suppliers.

We combine engineering, biomedical design, additive manufacturing, and digital development to build custom devices, clinical operations tools, anatomical models, and simulators with a practical mindset.

We work closely with hospitals, clinics, universities, and specialists to iterate faster, validate better, and move each solution toward useful implementation.

  • Building medical technology since 2019
  • Fast prototyping with clinical criteria
  • Work alongside hospitals, clinics, and universities

Technical capability and clinical context without inflating the process

We operate like a close technical team: we understand the problem, prototype quickly, and land solutions that can actually be validated and implemented.

Operating base

Guatemala with regional collaboration

We support local projects and collaborations with healthcare institutions across Central America.

Sectors

Hospitals, clinics, universities, and specialists

We design for teams that need real usefulness, not just a polished concept.

Capability

Biomedical design, additive manufacturing, and digital development

We combine physical product, digital tools, and practical validation in one flow.

Differentiator

Fast prototyping and patented flat splints

We accelerate iteration and have applied intellectual property in one of our clinical lines.

A track record connected to trauma, surgical education, and clinical innovation

Part of Digital Strings® work has been built alongside CrashSavers Trauma and connects to GSTC, SELF, SURGhub, and clinical allies in Guatemala.

Client and simulation CrashSavers Trauma

Digital Strings has developed multiple simulators for CrashSavers Trauma, an initiative focused on hemorrhage control, trauma, and hands-on training.

International challenge Global Surgical Training Challenge

CrashSavers Trauma appears as a Finalist Award winner within GSTC, a US$5M challenge funded by Intuitive Foundation and delivered with Challenge Works, MIT Solve, RCSI, and Appropedia.

SELF and Intuitive Foundation SELF / Intuitive Foundation

SELF is an Intuitive Foundation initiative. In 2023, Digital Strings participated in SELF Symposium, where simulators and work connected to surgery training were shared.

Published course SURGhub

The Crash Savers Trauma course on SURGhub lists Ricardo Miranda, Engineer - Digital Strings, Guatemala, among its authors and contributors.

Clinical client Diagnostix

Diagnostix is a recent client with whom Digital Strings is already working on 3D masks and future custom clinical product lines.
